As the owner of NJZ Developers, Jim Passios is passionate about building custom homes for his customers. Jim's entrepreneurial spirit was evident at a young age. As a 15 year old, his passion got the best of him and he approached a local contractor about being an “unofficial” member of his work crew. The pride and commitment he felt upon seeing the home completed left him knowing he had found his career path. He continued to work with a local construction company during the summers, paying his way through college by doing the work he loved.

Jim would later go on to buy his first “fixer-upper” in the seaside community of Beverly, Massachusetts. He repeated this pattern of buying and fixing up properties for several years. As his love of building and renovating grew, so did his need to develop his contracting skills. He developed his first custom home for his expanding family of four. It was rewarding to create a home that reflected the personal lifestyle of his family. The ability to design and decorate every inch of the interior and exterior of the home, further fueled his passion and NJZ Development was born.

NJZ Development entered a relationship with EPOCH modular homes in New Hampshire. Jim built homes from EPOCH specs and provided his clients with a beautiful home at an affordable cost. One of his proudest accomplishments was building the first Platinum LEED home in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This designation comes from the U.S. Green Building Council who is leading the way in green building standards.

As Jim's family grew so did the needs of his home. He ventured into his biggest project of his career, building a 4,000 square foot home for his expanding family of six. The house design and detail caught the eye of many neighbors, who in turn hired him to build their custom homes. All of his prior work accumulated in Jim finding his niche as a custom home developer. NJZ Developers have gone on to create a niche business on the South Shore, building and renovating custom homes in various seaside communities.
